What happened: DPIIT signed MoUs with PhonePe and Shell India
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with PhonePe and Shell India Pvt. Ltd. on 19 August 2026. DPIIT’s stated aim is to strengthen support for DPIIT-recognised startups and promote innovation across key sectors of India’s economy.
DPIIT’s MoU with PhonePe focuses on digital enablement for startups. DPIIT’s MoU with Shell India focuses on mentoring, investor and incubator connectivity, and ecosystem-building for startups operating in energy and climate-tech sectors.
