What happened: MeitY signs MoU with PhonePe for PM GatiShakti support

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PhonePe to bring PhonePe PulsePro insights into support for the PM GatiShakti mission. The stated purpose is to help national infrastructure planning, economic analysis, and holistic urban and rural development through more granular, hyperlocal data intelligence.

Under the MoU, PhonePe PulsePro metrics are planned to be integrated into the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan portal. The PM GatiShakti portal is managed through collaboration involving Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N).

The Government’s stated expectation is that PhonePe PulsePro insights will complement existing datasets and give government planners more visibility into emerging trends across markets and geographies, supporting data-driven decisions for national development planning.

Background and earlier position: What PM GatiShakti planning tools already aim to do

PM GatiShakti is a national infrastructure planning approach that uses a master plan portal for coordinating planning needs across sectors and levels of government. BISAG-N is positioned in the ecosystem as an implementing partner for geospatial and digital support for the portal environment.
