What happened (CCEA approval of four rail multi-tracking projects)
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved four multi-tracking projects of the Ministry of Railways. The total project cost is approximately Rs. 9,450 crore and the combined outcome is expected to expand the Indian Railways network by about 410 km.
The four projects approved under the multi-tracking approach are:
Kharagpur – Bhadrak (Ranital) 4th Line: 173 km (West Bengal and Odisha)
Bhadrak – Haridaspur 4th Line: 75 km (Odisha)
