What happened: CCEA approves four railway capacity projects worth ₹9,450 crore
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by the Prime Minister, approved four Ministry of Railways projects with a combined cost of ₹9,450 crore. The projects are scheduled to be completed by 2030–31 and together are expected to add about 410 km of track capacity.
Where the projects are located and what capacity additions are planned
The approved railway works are spread across eight districts in four states: West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh. The approvals include line capacity additions on the following railway sections:
