What happened: 6th RISE Conclave 2026 in Kolkata
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurated the 6th RISE Conclave 2026 at CSIR–Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (CSIR-IICB), Salt Lake, Kolkata, on September 6–7. Dr Jitendra Singh urged India’s innovation ecosystem to expand beyond metropolitan centres and to strengthen linkages between science, startups, and industry so that indigenous technologies move from laboratories to the marketplace.
RISE Conclave 2026 was described as a platform organised by CSIR-CGCRI, CSIR-IICB, CSIR-CMERI and CSIR-IMMT under the theme “Driving Innovation & Entrepreneurship for Viksit Bharat 2047.” The stated aim was to strengthen the interface between scientific research, entrepreneurship and industrial application.
Organisers reported participation and programme elements: about 150 startups, around 300 startup representatives, and around 150 delegates from incubation and innovation centres. The event included eight panel discussions, eight MoUs, four technology transfer initiatives, two product launches, and one facility inauguration.
