Opposition MPs alleged that political independence concerns in NCERT’s political science textbook development work arise from the composition of the NCERT textbook development team.
Opposition MPs also argued that the government has repeatedly used curricula and textbooks to advance ideological objectives and urged immediate corrective action.
Rajya Sabha members criticised the textbook development process with strongly worded metaphors and asserted that the work has been in progress for over a decade. Student groups including NSUI and AISA attacked the panel as a backdoor route for BJP–RSS propaganda and demanded dissolution.
