What happened
Families of five women treated at Kota’s New Medical College Hospital have asked the President for permission for euthanasia if kidney transplants are not provided. The women reportedly underwent 32 dialysis sessions over 68 days after kidney infections following Caesarean deliveries.
The hospital principal said the patients are stable and fit to go home, and that dialysis can continue on an outpatient basis. The principal also said transplant decisions require observation over time.
