What happened
Cuban Ambassador to India Juan Carlos Marsan Aguilera said the U.S. oil blockade has damaged every sector of Cuba’s economy and has caused widespread civilian suffering. He argued that repeated blackouts have affected agriculture, healthcare, water supply, food production, transport, and education.
The ambassador also said that more than 100,000 medical surgeries are pending, including 11,000 surgeries for children. He cited worsening infant mortality and reduced cancer-survival rates to argue that unilateral energy blockades create humanitarian harm.
