What happened: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met NCP(SP) Lok Sabha MPs
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met all eight Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) [NCP(SP)] Members of the Lok Sabha at the Prime Minister’s Office. Supriya Sule, the working president of NCP(SP), led the delegation.
Speculation and NCP(SP) denial on delimitation
The meeting triggered speculation about whether NCP(SP) could change its political position on delimitation (redrawing electoral constituency boundaries). Supriya Sule denied any delimitation-linked political signal from the meeting and stated that the delegation discussed issues concerning Maharashtra with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Maharashtra constituency concerns raised by NCP(SP)
NCP(SP) spokesperson Mahesh Tapase said the delegation raised constituency-specific concerns including drought, onion price issues, and pollution in the Chandrabhaga river.
