The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) plans a comprehensive review of India’s recent white-ball setbacks after the ongoing tour of England concludes. The proposed meeting is meant to assess performance gaps and improve preparation for the next ODI World Cup and the next T20 World Cup.
The review is expected to include senior board officials and key stakeholders such as coach Gautam Gambhir, chief selector Ajit Agarkar, T20I captain Shreyas Iyer, and ODI captain Shubman Gill. The stated purpose is to shape the team’s path toward the next major ICC tournaments.
The BCCI has described the recent defeats in Ireland and England as a bad phase rather than a crisis. Even so, the planned review is likely to examine three linked issues: team balance, adaptability in overseas conditions, and the selection system.
