What happened
The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) plans to add seven healthcare facilities across six States. Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is scheduled to inaugurate the projects at Sanathnagar, Telangana on Tuesday.
The government says the new facilities are worth about ₹668 crore and will serve about 53 lakh beneficiaries nationwide.
Facilities announced
The package includes:
an outpatient department (OPD) block of ESIC Hospital at Sanathnagar, Telangana;an upgraded 200-bed ESIC Hospital at Beltola, Assam;a 100-bed ESIC hospital at Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu;a hospital at Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh;dispensary and branch offices at Surendranagar, Gujarat and Kota, Rajasthan;and an ESI dispensary at Bhawani Mandi, Rajasthan.
