What happened at Government Tribal Hostel, Manjari (Pune district)

An indefinite hunger strike by tribal students at the Government Tribal Hostel in Manjari (Pune district), Maharashtra entered its ninth day. The hunger strike involved five students who were demanding action on issues affecting the tribal community.

Two tribal students were hospitalized after the hunger strike continued. Vijay Bhanbdle (22) and Rahul Dhanwe (24) were admitted to Sassoon Hospital with breathing difficulty and dehydration and were undergoing treatment.

The hunger strike was led by Navnath More. The protest names also included Nikita Metkar, Shweta Girnak, and Sharad Thokal.
