ISRO carried out the first ground test of the SOLVE (Sub-Orbital Launch Vehicle for Experiments) solid motor at its Static Test Facility at Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on July 3.
The SOLVE solid motor is a key component for Gaganyaan test missions, functioning as a test platform for Integrated Parachute Tests to validate the deceleration system of the crew module.
During these tests, the crew module will be taken to an altitude range of 10 km to 17 km before separation, deploying 10 parachutes to reduce its velocity ahead of splashdown.
