Assam floods have caused deaths and disruption of normal life. Officials reported a death toll of at least 80 people, with two more deaths reported in the latest updates. The newest fatalities were reported from Sivasagar district.
Officials said flood impact continues in eight districts, with 2.12 lakh people remaining impacted. Officials reported that 21 revenue circles and 437 villages remain under flood impact.
The update names the following districts as remaining under flood impact: Golaghat, Sivasagar, Biswanath, Charaideo, Kamrup (Metropolitan), Jorhat, Dhemaji, and Nagaon.
