MSDE and Bihar Govt exchange MoU for Skill India International Centre (SIIC) in Patna
MSDE and Bihar sign MoU for Skill India International Centre (SIIC) to support global careers and safe migration

- SIIC is planned to prepare Bihar’s youth for global careers through foreign-language training, international employment counselling, certification guidance, pre-departure orientation, and safe-migration support.
What happened
The Chief Minister of Bihar, Samrat Choudhary, and the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary, exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding for establishing the Skill India International Centre (SIIC) in Bihar.
The Memorandum of Understanding is between the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, and the Government of Bihar.
UPSC can frame SIIC as a policy-delivery node that links skilling with international employment readiness. The centre’s listed functions—foreign-language training, counselling, certification guidance, pre-departure orientation, and safe-migration support—enable discussion on how governance of overseas employability services can reduce mismatches and protect workers.
