What happened
The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises reported a success story where Zeedesign Engineering Pvt. Ltd., a Mumbai-based Udyam-registered micro enterprise, recovered ₹21.06 lakh through the MSME Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) Portal. The petitioner filed a petition on the ODR portal, and the Ministry reports that outstanding payment was released through an amicable settlement within 24 hours.
Background and earlier position
MSME payment disputes affect working capital and business survival. Payment recovery delays can arise from procedural steps, coordination requirements between buyer and supplier, and time taken for dispute resolution processes to conclude.
What changed now
The Ministry’s reported case presents the MSME Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) Portal as a digitised path for filing a petition and reaching an amicable settlement. The operational focus in the case study is speed (within 24 hours) and outcome (payment release through amicable settlement).
