What happened: BHASHINI SANGAM (Nepal) in Kathmandu
The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD) under the Digital India Corporation (DIC), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, organised BHASHINI SANGAM: International Engagement Workshop (Nepal) in Kathmandu.
The workshop was held in collaboration with the Embassy of India, Kathmandu and Kathmandu University. Stakeholders from government, academia, technology, research and innovation ecosystems participated.
BHASHINI SANGAM (Nepal) explored multilingual and voice-first Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enable access to digital services, information and opportunities in preferred languages.
Background and earlier position: Language AI collaboration under an MoU
The event built on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between DIBD and Kathmandu University for collaboration on language technology and digital public infrastructure.
