What happened
The Government of India announced in Union Budget 2026-27 the creation of AVGC Content Creator Labs (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics training and content creation labs) in 15,000 secondary schools and 500 colleges. The announcement also names the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies, Mumbai as the supporting institution for enabling these labs. The announced purpose is to improve the availability of professionals for the AVGC sector.
