What happened (West Bengal EV public charging stations under FAME-II)
The Ministry of Heavy Industries stated that, based on inputs received from three Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs)—Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL)—a total of 482 EV public charging stations (EVPCS) were sanctioned in West Bengal under the FAME-II Scheme. Out of these sanctioned EVPCS, 463 are operational as on 01.07.2026.
The ministry added that district-wise details of the number of EVPCS sanctioned and operational in West Bengal as on 01.07.2026 are provided in Annexure I. The ministry also stated that no assessment has been done.
Funding design under FAME-II for EVPCS (pan-India allocation, no state-wise allocation)
Under the FAME-II Scheme, the Ministry of Heavy Industries reported an allocation of ₹912.50 crore for setting up EVPCS on a pan-India basis. The ministry also clarified that no state-wise allocation was made for EVPCS under FAME-II.
