What happened: Indian Railways describes its rail training ecosystem and scale
Indian Railways reported that it improves work productivity, motivation, and professional competencies through structured capacity building and advanced training. Indian Railways described training as continuous and institutionalised, supported by a training framework with multiple types of training institutions, and supported by periodically updated modules for modern, technology-intensive rail operations and freight/logistics.
Indian Railways stated that about six lakh railway employees are trained every year under these programmes. Indian Railways said training includes induction, refresher, promotional, and technical programmes across different stages of service, and it also covers freight-related functions.
