What happened
NHAI initiated disciplinary action over alleged lapses in monitoring and supervision on the Kanpur–Lucknow Expressway project. NHAI removed three officials from the project and debarred them from participating in projects of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), NHAI and National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) for a period of two years.
The officials removed and debarred include:
- Shri Vivek Kumar Gupta, Project Manager of the construction agency — removed from the project and debarred for two years.
- Shri Surendra Kumar, Team Leader of the Independent Engineer — removed from the project and debarred for two years.
- Shri Yatendra Kumar, Resident Engineer — removed from the project and debarred for two years.
