What happened: Final Location Surveys sanctioned for new Jammu & Kashmir rail connectivity proposals
The Ministry of Railways sanctioned Final Location Surveys (FLS) for rail connectivity projects in Jammu and Kashmir. The stated purpose is to enable preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs).

Jalandhar Cantt–Jammu Tawi (216 km): Ministry of Railways stated that a third-line proposal has a Detailed Project Report (DPR) prepared.Jammu–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra additional line (78 km): Final Location Surveys (FLS) sanctioned for preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR); field survey has been taken up.Jammu/Reasi–Poonch new line (190 km): Final Location Surveys (FLS) sanctioned for preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR); field survey has been taken up.
