What happened: eGramSwaraj portal and AuditOnline launched for Panchayat financial oversight
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj launched two e-governance tools in April 2020—eGramSwaraj and AuditOnline—to improve oversight, monitoring, transparency, and accountability in Panchayat financial processes linked to Central Finance Commission grants. The Ministry’s stated focus is transparency and accountability in CFC-grant disbursal and utilisation by Panchayati Raj institutions in States, including Chhattisgarh.
eGramSwaraj: integrated planning-to-payment workflow and public progress data
The Ministry states that eGramSwaraj is a web portal launched since April 2020. The portal integrates Panchayat financial functions “from planning to payment” and displays progress data obtained from the system in the public domain for concurrent monitoring at the State, District, and Block levels.
