The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is expanding the e-Panchayat Mission Mode Project under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) to digitise core functions of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs). The policy significance lies in the use of digital platforms to improve transparency, efficiency, auditability, and citizen-facing services at the village level.

What the digital platform stack does

The release identifies multiple applications under the e-Panchayat Mission Mode Project. These platforms collectively support planning, budgeting, accounting, progress reporting, auditing, meeting records, asset management, and citizen services.

Key applications under e-Panchayat

eGramSwaraj is the main application for planning, budgeting, accounting, progress reporting, and asset management in Gram Panchayats. AuditOnline supports online auditing of Panchayat accounts according to the prescribed audit framework. Meri Panchayat, Panchayat NIRNAY, and SabhaSaar are described as tools for public access to Panchayat information, transparent Gram Sabha proceedings, and AI-enabled documentation of meetings.

The release also notes integration with GeM, BSNL, BHASHINI, and weather information services. These integrations are meant to improve accessibility and support informed local decision-making.
