Transformative Reforms Over 12 Years
The Government has introduced transformative initiatives to improve the quality of life for pensioners, making services more accessible and transparent. The Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) has prioritized digital initiatives under the Digital India campaign.
Digital Life Certificates
The introduction of Aadhaar-based Digital Life Certificates in 2014 and Face Authentication technology in 2021 has allowed pensioners to submit life certificates effortlessly via smartphones, enhancing convenience.
Nationwide Outreach Campaigns
The DoPPW has conducted four Digital Life Certificate Campaigns since 2022, with the latest generating over 1.91 crore certificates, demonstrating the effectiveness of technology in reaching remote areas.
