What happened (NeGD–AAERI “AAERI Verify” integrated with DigiLocker)
NeGD under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology partnered with the Association of Australian Education Representatives in India (AAERI) to launch “AAERI Verify”. “AAERI Verify” is an authentication platform integrated with DigiLocker to enable secure, paperless, consent-based verification of academic, identity and financial documents for students applying to Australian universities.
AAERI unveiled “AAERI Verify” in collaboration with NeGD at the AAERI Annual Convention in New Delhi on August 7, 2026.
Background (NeGD’s DPI role and DigiLocker’s function)
NeGD is described as an independent business division under MeitY established in 2009. DigiLocker is described as a flagship DPI initiative under NeGD that provides a secure, consent-based wallet for digitally signed documents issued by authorised organisations.
