CAQM’s latest inspection under Operation Clean Air shows improved compliance on Delhi roads, with 78 of 79 Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) stretches found to have end-to-end paving. The issue matters because road dust is a major urban source of particulate pollution, and paving is a basic but effective mitigation measure.
What happened
The Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) conducted a special inspection drive in Delhi on 08.07.2026 under Operation Clean Air.
The inspection covered 79 road stretches spanning about 13 kilometres across different parts of Delhi under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
According to CAQM, 78 of the 79 stretches had end-to-end paving. On the remaining one stretch, road construction and redevelopment work was still in progress.
