The Ministry of Railways flagged off the inaugural Ramnagar–Dehradun Express, the first direct express train between Ramnagar and Dehradun. The launch is relevant for UPSC because it combines rail connectivity, regional integration, tourism, and infrastructure planning in Uttarakhand.
The service is expected to strengthen rail links between the Kumaon and Garhwal regions and improve access for passengers from Uttarakhand and neighbouring Uttar Pradesh.
