The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released Independent Drive Test findings for mobile network quality across selected routes in Madhya Pradesh. The tests matter because they assess how mobile services actually perform on the ground, not just how operators report network coverage.
TRAI says the tests were conducted in June 2026 across Bhopal city, the Indore to Neemuch highway route, and the Bilaspur to Ambikapur highway route under the Madhya Pradesh Licensed Service Area (LSA). The stated purpose was to verify real-time voice and data quality provided by Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) and to publish the performance for consumers and service improvement.
What TRAI measured
The drive tests covered cities, hotspots, public transport or crowded areas through walk tests, and highway stretches under the supervision of the TRAI Regional Office, Bhopal. TRAI also stated that the observations reflect TSP performance in the specific area or route and at the exact date and time of testing.

It covered city drives over 301.2 km, hotspot locations at 9 sites, walk tests over 7.9 km, and highway testing over 506.3 km. The routes were tested between 8 and 12 June 2026, and on 16 June 2026.
