What happened
The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has reported that fisheries and aquaculture schemes have been implemented in Balasore district, Odisha through the Blue Revolution, Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), and the Fisheries and Infrastructure Development Fund (FIDF). The announcement is a district-level implementation update, not a new national policy, but it gives revision-worthy data on scheme delivery, infrastructure, and utilisation.
Background and earlier position
The Department of Fisheries, under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, implements fisheries and aquaculture programmes across India on the basis of proposals and recommendations received from State Governments.
