What happened
The Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy (PCIM&H), Ministry of Ayush, and the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the “One Herb, One Standard” initiative. The MoU exchange was done by PCIM&H Director I/c Dr. Kousthubha Upadhyaya and IPC Secretary-cum-Scientific Director Dr. V. Kalaiselvan at Kartavya Bhavan, New Delhi, with senior officials and Ministers of State present.
Background and earlier position
PCIM&H and IPC began work under the “One Herb, One Standard” concept through an MoU initiated in 2022. During the first phase, 50 monographs of medicinal plants were developed.
