What happened
The Ministry of Cooperation has reported the status of the computerisation of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) in Rajasthan. Of the approved PACS under the project, most have been onboarded onto an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, while the remaining societies are yet to be integrated.
The Union Minister for Home and Cooperation, Amit Shah, gave this information in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.
Background and earlier position
PACS are grassroots cooperative credit institutions that support short-term agricultural and allied credit at the village level. Computerisation of PACS is intended to improve record management, transparency, service delivery, and integration with wider cooperative and banking systems.
