What happened: PM Gati Shakti-linked port projects, Sagarmala connectivity, and green-port measures
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways reported a quantified portfolio for port infrastructure, port connectivity, and green-port initiatives. The reported numbers cover PM Gati Shakti Master Plan-linked projects, Sagarmala’s coastal shipping and Inland Waterways Transport (IWT) pillar, and the Sagarmala port connectivity pillar focused on road, rail, and inland waterways links from ports to their immediate hinterlands.
PM Gati Shakti-linked port infrastructure and port connectivity projects
The Ministry reported that 182 infrastructure development and port connectivity projects worth Rs. 1,09,018 crore were identified under the PM Gati Shakti Master Plan. Implementation roles reported by the Ministry include Major Ports, State Maritime Boards, and Union Territories (UTs).
Completion status reported by the Ministry:
75 projects worth Rs. 31,967 crore have been completed.
