What happened: NeVA digital transformation for 21 Legislative Houses

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha, reported that 21 Legislative Houses were transformed into digital legislatures under the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) project. The government stated that these transitions happened after most State/Union Territory legislatures moved from interest to formal commitment through MoUs for NeVA implementation.

Key implementation status reported by the government:

33 out of 37 State/UT Legislatures signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) for NeVA implementation.21 Legislative Houses were transformed into digital legislatures under NeVA.Central financial assistance of ₹138.17 crore was disbursed to these Legislative Houses to facilitate the transition.

The 21 Legislative Houses reported as transitioned into digital Houses under NeVA are: Punjab Legislative Assembly, Odisha Legislative Assembly, Bihar Legislative Assembly, Bihar Legislative Council, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Manipur Legislative Assembly, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Tripura Legislative Assembly, Haryana Legislative Assembly, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Mizoram Legislative Assembly, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, Gujarat Legislative Assembly, Puducherry Legislative Assembly, Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, Assam Legislative Assembly, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, and Delhi Legislative Assembly.
