What happened (Monsoon Session legislative agenda)
The Delhi government plans to introduce a bill to repeal the 2007 law that regulates bed-and-breakfast (B&B) establishments in the upcoming Monsoon Session. The decision was placed after a fatal B&B fire in Malviya Nagar that killed 23 people, including foreign nationals.
Speaker Vijender Gupta said the Business Advisory Committee agreed to introduce the repeal bill in a four-day Monsoon Session starting Friday. The Business Advisory Committee also decided to table two other bills and to place two CAG reports plus a notification linked to the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission.
