What happened
The Parents Association for Welfare and Justice (PAWJ) has been launched in Delhi as a parent body focused on fee regulation and accountability in private unaided schools. PAWJ president Divya Mattey has demanded an independent financial audit of private unaided schools and the immediate constitution of School Level Fee Regulation Committees.
The association has also asked for strict implementation of provisions intended to protect children from harassment in fee-related disputes. PAWJ has cited provisions of the Delhi School Education Act, 2025 and has linked its appeal to a May 22 Delhi High Court judgment on school fee increases.

The dispute concerns the regulation of fees in private unaided schools in Delhi. PAWJ says the May 22 High Court judgment holds that private unaided schools do not require prior approval from the Directorate of Education to increase fees at the start of an academic session.
