What happened
The Parents Association for Welfare and Justice (PAWJ) has demanded stronger regulation of private unaided school fee hikes in Delhi. The association has asked for an independent financial audit of private unaided schools and for immediate constitution of School Level Fee Regulation Committees.
PAWJ has also urged strict implementation of protections meant to prevent harassment of children in fee-related disputes and has called for enforcement of the Delhi School Education Act, 2025.
UPSC may frame the issue around the tension between school autonomy and regulatory oversight, the role of parent participation, and the legal questions arising from the Delhi High Court’s fee-hike ruling. The issue also connects to education governance, accountability in private institutions, and the limits of executive approval in fee fixation.
