Delhi Jal Board approved Yamuna rejuvenation projects worth nearly ₹4,500 crore, including 15 new decentralised sewage treatment plants and related sewer and sludge works.
Sewage treatment capacity numbers and DSTP pipeline
Reported figures in the announcement link the approvals to sewage treatment capacity expansion. Sewage treatment capacity was stated as about 749 million gallons per day (MGD) when the present Delhi government took office, with a reported aim to raise it to 1,041 MGD.
After the approvals, Delhi is reported to have 28 DSTPs under implementation—13 previously approved plus 15 newly awarded projects.
