Rajasthan has expanded the Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya (MAA) Yojana by enabling outbound portability, so eligible beneficiaries can take cashless treatment in hospitals outside the state. The policy matters because it converts a state insurance scheme into a wider access mechanism for specialised care across India.
The portability facility helped around 30,000 Rajasthan patients obtain free treatment in other states over the last six months. About 5,900 claims worth roughly ₹17 crore were submitted for speciality care in Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Delhi.
The reported treatments include heart stent placement, heart bypass surgery, cancer surgery, chemotherapy, dialysis, and Caesarean deliveries. The network now covers both government and private hospitals across India, including around 16,000 government hospitals and 14,000 private hospitals.
