The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has restated the public-health architecture for anaemia and child nutrition under the National Health Mission. The package is important because it links anemia control, infant feeding, newborn care, and young-child nutrition within one lifecycle approach.

What the Ministry has highlighted

The Ministry's note identifies the following interventions under the National Health Mission:

Anemia Mukt Bharat addresses anemia among children, adolescents, women of reproductive age, pregnant women, and lactating women through a lifecycle approach.

Nutrition and child-health interventions include Mothers’ Absolute Affection, Lactation Management Centres, Vitamin A supplementation, Home-Based Newborn Care, Home-Based Care for Young Child Programme, and Mission Poshan 2.0.
