What happened
The Ministry of Cooperation said that White Revolution 2.0 has expanded dairy cooperative coverage in Punjab. The ministry said that new dairy cooperative societies have been formed and existing dairy cooperatives have been strengthened to improve the cooperative dairy network.
As on 15 July 2026, Punjab had 1,027 newly registered dairy cooperative societies and 951 existing dairy cooperative societies strengthened, according to the ministry.
UPSC can frame this as a question on the role of dairy cooperatives in rural income, cooperative institutional design, and the implementation of White Revolution 2.0. A candidate should connect the announcement with broader themes of cooperatives in agriculture-linked livelihoods and rural development.
