What happened
The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) has recognised the Central Hindi Training Institute (CHTI) as an Awarding Body (Dual). The recognition allows CHTI to award, assess, and certify learners for approved qualifications when training is directly delivered by CHTI in campuses or training centres owned or fully managed by the institute.
The recognition strengthens the institute's formal role under the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and links official-language training with the national skills architecture.
Background and earlier position
CHTI functions under the Department of Official Language and was established to provide specialised in-service training in Hindi language proficiency, Hindi word processing, and Hindi stenography. Before this recognition, CHTI's training role existed, but the NCVET-backed certification function described in the release was not explicitly in place.
The first CHTI qualification mentioned in the release, "Fundamentals of Hindi Word Processing & Hindi Stenography," has already received NCVET approval.
