What happened
The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) has recognised the Central Hindi Training Institute (CHTI) as an Awarding Body (Dual). The recognition allows CHTI to award, assess, and certify learners for approved qualifications when training is directly delivered by CHTI in campuses or training centres owned or fully managed by the institute.
The recognition strengthens the institute's formal role under the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and links official-language training with the national skills architecture.
UPSC may frame this as a test of the role of NCVET, the distinction between training and certification, and the place of the National Skills Qualification Framework in standardising vocational qualifications.
