What happened: ECI launches ELC 2.0
The Election Commission of India (ECI) launched Electoral Literacy Clubs 2.0 (ELC 2.0) during a conference titled “Electoral Literacy Clubs and ECINet” held at Gyan Bhawan, Patna. The conference was addressed by the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Shri Gyanesh Kumar.
ECI stated that educational institutions should contribute to strengthening trust in electoral processes by improving electoral literacy and promoting informed democratic participation.
ECI also unveiled a new logo for Electoral Literacy Club and introduced a new tagline: “Learn Democracy. Lead Democracy.” The stated objective is to encourage young and first-time voters to understand democracy and participate meaningfully.
During ECI’s Bihar visit from 16–17 August 2026, the CEC held a meeting with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at Rajgir International Convention Centre, Nalanda, and undertook field visits in Madhubani, Vaishali and Nalanda.
