What happened: MeitY approves 31 more ECMS proposals (18 August 2026)
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) approved 31 additional proposals under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) on 18 August 2026. MeitY states that the 31 proposals have projected investment of Rs 6,844 crore.
The government event for handing over of approvals was held in New Delhi in collaboration with the Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA).
What the approvals cover: components, supply-chain products, and capital goods
MeitY states that the approvals cover manufacturing of 20 target segment products and multiple sub-assemblies, components, supply-chain products, and parts of capital goods.
