Gujarat ATS arrests five more suspects in a Jaish-e-Mohammed-linked terror module case
- The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad announced five additional arrests in an alleged JeM-linked terror module case.

- The arrested persons were apprehended from Khadiyal in Siddhpur taluka of Patan district.
- Some accused were said to have stayed at Jamia Abul Hasan Madrasa in Patan since 2023.
The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has arrested five more people in an alleged terror module linked to the Pakistan-based banned outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). The new arrests take the total number of accused to 13 and make the case relevant for UPSC internal security revision because it combines terror-linked recruitment concerns, alleged training, and police investigation powers.
What happened
The five newly arrested persons are Bilal Abidbhai Shera, Mohammad Ayyub Kadiwala, Mohammad Ayyubbhai Sunsara alias Mohammad Khali, Mohammad Hasan Hannifbhai Kardiya alias Hasan Haiderpuri, and Shafi Raees Mukhi alias Shafi Chhapi.
UPSC may use the Gujarat ATS arrests to test India’s internal security architecture, especially the role of state anti-terror units, the legal treatment of banned organisations, police custody, and the challenge of radicalisation through local support networks and training spaces.
