What happened
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported an ABDM progress snapshot as of 20 July 2026. The government stated that 94.87 crore ABHAs have been created across India, and it reported the registration coverage of two ABDM registries—Health Facility Registry (HFR) and Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR).

ABDM is built around digital identity (ABHA) and registry-based verification to support standardised identification of health users, health facilities, and healthcare professionals. HFR and HPR function as registries for verified entities, intended to support reliable mapping between care providers and the digital ecosystem.
What changed now
The government’s update provides a specific coverage count for ABHA creation and for verified registrations in HFR and HPR as of a single reference date: 20 July 2026. The update also reiterates that HFR covers verified healthcare facilities and HPR covers verified healthcare professionals, with state-wise and district-wise distribution available through the real-time ABDM dashboard.
