TRAI Mobile Network Assessment in Satara District

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released the results of an Independent Drive Test (IDT) conducted in Satara, Maharashtra, in March 2026. The drive test aimed to assess the quality of mobile network services provided by Telecom Service Providers (TSPs).
Key Quality of Service (QoS) parameters included Coverage Gap, Call Drop Rate (CDR), and Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR). Data was collected across a distance of 535.5 KMs in the city and 103.3 KMs on highways.
TRAI's findings are crucial for UPSC aspirants focusing on telecommunications and regulatory frameworks. Understanding the quality parameters assessed can help in analyzing the efficiency of TSPs in India.
