TRAI's Evaluation of Mobile Network Quality in North Delhi

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) released findings from an Independent Drive Test conducted in North Delhi during April 2026. This assessment evaluated the real-time quality of mobile network services from multiple Telecom Service Providers (TSPs), focusing on key Quality of Service (QoS) parameters.
The drive test spanned 374.2 kilometers across various environments, capturing mobile network performance data. Key parameters assessed included Coverage Gap, Call Drop Rate (CDR), and data Download/Upload speeds.
The TRAI's findings can influence consumer choices and pressure telecom service providers to enhance service quality. UPSC may explore how such evaluations affect policy-making in telecommunications.
